Vale of Lune RUFC

The 30th Northern Microcar Rally was based at the Vale of Lune RUFC in Lancaster and we would thank all the staff at the Club for their hospitality.

Like the lyrics from the Visage hit 'Fade to Grey' (1980) "
Sent la pluie comme un été Anglais" (Feel the rain like an English summer) the heavens opened.  However spirits were not dampened, road runs turned into an adventure and a good time was had by all.

Our Friday road run headed odd to Morecambe Bay driving along the seafront at Morecambe, passing by Carnforth Station the famous setting for Brief Encounter and onwards to Silverdale where we stopped for lunch at The Royal pub.

We set off after lunch heading through Arnside and on to The Old School Brewery at Warton where we partook of the local libations before heading back to base.

Friday evening was spent socialising the Rugby Club bar with Tom's Quiz being the highlight of the night!

Saturday saw our road run through the Forest of Bowland in torrential rain.  Despite the deluge and the sheep on the road with suicidal tendencies we made it through (without any breakdowns!) to our lunch stop at PuddleDucks Tea Room at Dunford Bridge.

We then continued on through Slaidburn to High Bentham for (another!) tea stop before returning back to Lancaster

Saturday evening was a special event to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Micro Maniacs Club.  We enjoyed a buffet and evening entertainment followed by a raffle and the presentation of awards.
